Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 21, 2026 · Effective immediately upon use

Sisnova ("Sisnova", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Networkia networking platform (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over your data. By signing up, checking in to an event, or otherwise using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read this Policy and consent to the practices described herein. This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service.

1. Introduction

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy describes how Sisnova collects and processes personal information in connection with your use of the Networkia Service. We have drafted this Policy to be clear and transparent, and we have aligned our practices with applicable data-protection laws, including (where relevant) the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") and the California Consumer Privacy Act / CPRA ("CCPA").

"Personal information" means any information that identifies, relates to, describes, or could reasonably be linked — directly or indirectly — to an identifiable natural person.

2. Who We Are

Sisnova is the controller of your personal information processed through the Service. Any questions or requests regarding this Policy or your personal information should be sent to info@sisnova.io.

3. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use the Service:

Information you provide directly

  • Identity & contact data: name, email address, and any other identifiers you supply during registration or onboarding.
  • Profile data: professional role, industry, company (if provided), interests, networking goals ("wants"), skills or expertise offered ("offers"), and any free-text fields you complete.
  • Authentication data: when you sign in via a third-party identity provider (such as Google), we receive basic account information (name, email, and profile picture URL) authorized by that provider.
  • Event data: which event you have joined, check-in time, and any actions you take within that event (such as viewing a match).
  • Communications: the content of messages you send to us (for example, to info@sisnova.io).

Information we collect automatically

  • Device & connection data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, language preferences, and approximate location derived from IP.
  • Usage data: pages viewed, features used, referring URLs, session timestamps, and interaction data necessary to operate and improve the Service.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: as described in Section 11 below.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • Provide and operate the Service — create and manage your account, process check-ins, run the matching algorithm, and surface networking suggestions to you and other attendees of the same event.
  • Authenticate users — verify your identity, maintain session state, and protect against unauthorized access.
  • Communicate with you — respond to your inquiries, send transactional notices about the Service, and send material updates to these policies.
  • Improve and secure the Service — monitor performance, debug errors, analyze aggregate usage patterns, prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • Comply with legal obligations — respond to lawful requests from public authorities, enforce our Terms, and protect the rights, property, and safety of Sisnova, our users, and the public.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

6. How We Share Your Information

We share your personal information only as described below:

  • With other attendees of the same event. Your profile information (such as name, role, interests, wants, and offers) is visible to other attendees of the same event as part of the core matching functionality. Do not include information you do not wish to share.
  • With event organizers and administrators. Organizers of the event you attend may access aggregated statistics and attendee-level profile data for the event they operate.
  • With service providers. We engage trusted vendors for hosting, database, authentication, analytics, and error monitoring. These providers may only process personal information under our instructions and in accordance with this Policy.
  • For legal reasons. We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
  • In a business transfer. If Sisnova is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the protections of this Policy.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

7. Data Retention

Sisnova retains your personal information for as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including:

  • Providing you with continued access to the Service and your event history.
  • Complying with our legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations.
  • Resolving disputes and enforcing our agreements.
  • Maintaining business records and aggregated analytics.

When we no longer have a legitimate ongoing need to process your personal information, we will either delete it or anonymize it so it can no longer be associated with you. Backups and archival copies may persist for additional periods as part of our routine disaster-recovery and integrity procedures.

You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by sending an email to info@sisnova.io (see Section 9). Upon verifying your identity, we will delete information that is not subject to a legal retention obligation.

8. How We Protect Your Data

We store your data securely and apply industry-standard technical and organizational measures designed to protect it against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, and disclosure. These measures include:

  • Encryption of data in transit via HTTPS/TLS.
  • Encrypted, access-controlled database storage with the principle of least privilege.
  • Authentication via trusted identity providers and hashed session tokens.
  • Routine security reviews, dependency patching, and monitoring for unusual activity.
  • Limiting access to personal information to Sisnova personnel with a legitimate need to know, bound by confidentiality obligations.

While we work hard to safeguard your information, no transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you acknowledge the residual risk of providing personal information online.

9. Your Rights & Deletion Requests

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have some or all of the following rights in respect of your personal information:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Erasure ("Right to be forgotten") — request deletion of your personal information. Simply email info@sisnova.io with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and the email address associated with your account.
  • Restriction — ask us to limit how we process your information.
  • Objection — object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
  • Portability — receive a copy of your data in a commonly used electronic format.
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw any consent you previously provided, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
  • Non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights.
  • Complaint — lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (EEA/UK) if you believe our processing is unlawful.

How to exercise your rights: Send an email to info@sisnova.io. To protect your account, we may ask you to verify your identity before processing the request. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (typically within 30 days).

10. International Data Transfers

Sisnova may process and store personal information in countries other than your country of residence, including countries that may have different data-protection standards. Where we transfer data internationally, we implement appropriate safeguards — such as standard contractual clauses — to ensure your information receives an adequate level of protection consistent with this Policy and applicable law.

11. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and secure the Service, to remember your preferences, to keep you signed in, and to understand how the Service is used. Cookies may be:

  • Strictly necessary — required for authentication, session management, and security.
  • Functional — remember your preferences and choices.
  • Analytics — help us understand aggregate usage and improve the Service.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent the Service from functioning correctly.

12. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on trusted third parties (for example, Google OAuth for authentication and cloud hosting providers for infrastructure). When you authenticate via a third-party provider, that provider's privacy policy governs its own processing of your information in addition to ours. We encourage you to review the policies of those providers.

13. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 16 (or the applicable minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher). We do not knowingly collect personal information from such children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us at info@sisnova.io and we will take steps to delete it.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the Service, applicable laws, or other operational reasons. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this Policy. For material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you — for example, by email or by posting a prominent notice within the Service — before the changes take effect.
